Geomechanics chair
The geomechanics chair focuses on porous media and in particular on multiphysics couplings that appear at a small scale but which have significant influences at the large scale of a structure or reservoir. This thereby affects the couplings between the rupture, damage and transportation in mesoporous media, or deformation induced by adsorption in microporous media. The scientific approach includes experimentation, modeling and digital simulations to characterize media, build databases, improve existing models and propose new ones, and validating and comparing results at media scale and structure scale.
